Rakesh Rana organized a 2-day workshop 22nd and 23rd March 2023 (in Mukteshwar) at his Camping site. Rakesh was the mentor for this workshop and we had 10 cyclists coming from different parts of Kumaon Region in Uttarakhand to attend this event.
Rakesh Rana has a beautiful campsite at Sitla and which has cottages and tents. The workshop was for two days and the cyclists got to interact with each other and learn from each other’s experiences.
There are trails (jungle, off road and single-track trails) which apt for MTB training. Cyclists got to cycle in these trails and Rakesh taught them the finer points of MTB cycling. The cyclists were taught on posture, diet, how to prepare for races and how to keep yourself free from injury. We can proudly say that Rakesh has been inspiring the youngsters and some of the youngsters are representing Uttarakhand under his able guidance.
The vision that we as a team must give maximum knowledge and skills to the young cyclists and who shall represent the State. We also want to help some of the youngsters from the hills to make a career in cycling and help them in achieving their goals. The plan is to conduct such workshops on a regular basis.
We shall be very soon organizing a race for the youngsters (Men’s & Women’s sections).
